  FOURTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
ON GREEN CHEMISTRY FOR ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT

Dear Colleagues,

We have the pleasure to invite you to the Fourth International Symposium on Green Chemistry for Environment, Health and Development that will be held in Kos island, Greece, on September 24 to 26, 2014. The conference is organized by the Society of Ecotoxicology & Environmental Safety (SECOTOX) and the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly, in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Department of Chemical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the Department of Food Technology, T.E.I of Thessaloniki, and the Hellenic Green Chemistry Network. The symposium is under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.

The main symposium goal is to present and appoint issues related with renewable resources, green pharmacy, ecotoxicology environmental legislation and policy and similar matters. The papers accepted for the oral or poster presentation of the symposium will be published as abstarcts in a hard copy issue. The full papers will be uploaded at the symposium website that will be accessed by symposium participants via password. Selected articles from the symposium will be published in special issues, after they are reviewed in the journals Fresenius Environmental Bulletin (Parlar Publications), Toxicological and Environmental Chemistry  (Taylor & Francis) and Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy (Elsevier Publications). The symposium participants will be informed regarding these issues via e-mail. Authors interested in having their paper published in the special issues of international journals can submit their manuscripts at the symposium or within two months afterwards.

All scientists, professionals, researchers, environmentalists and policy makers involved or interested in the area of the symposium are invited to present papers relating to the symposium topics. Please, indicate your preference for an oral or a poster presentation. Authors are requested to submit abstracts, preferably by e-mail (emanouil@uth.gr, chemmanouil@topo.auth.gr) as a word file attachment to the Symposium secretary, by June 30, 2014.
